Business community of South Africa increases cooperation with the Novosibirsk region
On October 25, the Novosibirsk entrepreneurs met with the delegation from the Republic of South Africa headed by the Ambassador of South Africa to Russia Mrs. Nomasonto M. Sibanda-Thusi at the business hall of the hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Novosibirsk.
The South African delegation was represented by Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in the Russian Federation Mr. Moloko Leshaba, Acting Chief Operating Officer on trade and investment of the Department of Trade and Industry Mr. Vusi Mweli, Deputy director on export marketing of the Department of Trade and Industry Allison Christian and representatives of more than 20 companies from South Africa of the following spheres: winemaking, food and light industry, production of equipment for energy quality monitoring, mining equipment, alarm systems, construction.
The Russian side was represented by the head of the department of international relations of the Novosibirsk region Sergey Sannikov, the president of the Novosibirsk City CCI Yuri Bernadsky and top managers of local companies.
Yuri Bernadsky made a report on economic potential of the region, prospects of development and implementation of joint projects. He pointed out that the Novosibirsk region has a particular feature in its economic development as deeply diversified economy, industrial production based on high-tech research, science, communication and IT, construction sector and real estate market, transport.
The Ambassador of South Africa to Russia Mrs. Nomasonto M. Sibanda-Thusi noted that the visit of representatives of South Africa to our region is a strategic one for South African business. The representatives of the Department of Trade and Industry and business circles of South Africa plan to know the opportunities for business cooperation and the investment climate of the region. After the official part there were B2B negotiations between entrepreneurs of two countries.
Regular visits of South African official and business representatives consider their big interest to long-term cooperation development and the effectiveness of joint business projects of the countries.
