Novosibirsk companies discussed cooperation with the State of Palestine

On February 9, the webinar with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Russian Federation Abdel Hafiz Nofal was held with the information support of Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting dedicated to the development of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the State of Palestine.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Russian Federation Abdel Hafiz Nofal, Counsellor of Embassy of the State of Palestine in the Russian Federation Mr. Shallan Farid, President of Association of Exporters and Importers (AEI) Andrey Podenok, Expert on communications and Vice President of AEI Pavel Dolgov, member of Presidium of AEI and Expert on foreign activities Irina Zasedatel as well as representatives of Russian and Palestinian companies took part in the event.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Russian Federation Abdel Hafiz Nofal noted the importance of organization of online meetings and negotiations because of the current epidemiological situation. In addition, he expressed hope for the strengthening cooperation with Russia in many sectors of the economy, including oil and oil products, wood and plastics industry, coal mining, energy.

Mr. Nofal talked about free economic zones on the territory of the state, due to which the participating countries have a duty-free mutual trade. Mr. Nofal expressed the hope that in the future a free trade agreement would be signed between Russia and Palestine.

Representatives of Palestinian businesses represented the potential of their companies and expressed their desire for direct cooperation with Russian companies in various sectors. Nowadays, most products imported from Russia enter Palestinian market via Israel. Palestinian companies are interested in developing fruitful cooperation, including in the format of B2B negotiations.

 In conclusion, entrepreneurs from Novosibirsk region and other regions were informed about the Palestinian market and exchanged contacts. More than 60 representatives of Russian business community and 20 Palestinian companies took part in the event.
