Business cooperation prospective between Taiwan and the Novosibirsk region discussed in NCCCI
On August 27, the president of the NCCCI Yuri Bernadsky met with Director of Economic Division of the Representative Office in Moscow for the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission Mr. Chang Yu-lin.
Mr. Chang Yu-lin emphasized that he came to Novosibirsk to visit the VIII International Forum of Technological Development “TECHNOPROM-2021” and to acquaintance with an economic potential of the Novosibirsk region. Taiwan representatives consider different ways of expand cooperation between two countries, including the system of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission is a representative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan. The main purpose of the Commission is to assistance in the economic cooperation, investment, and external trade, search of partners and promotion of Taiwanese products on international markets.
The turnover between Russia and Taiwan is more than $4 billion. Taiwan imports mainly mineral fuel, oil, coal and metal. It exports electronics, machine tools, equipment, and auto parts. Taiwan is especially interested in cooperation with Novosibirsk companies in the field of high technologies. Mr. Chang Yu-lin expressed hope that Novosibirsk region enterprises will be able to occupy their own niche in exporting their products to Taiwan.
Yuri Bernadsky told about the peculiarities of economic development of the Novosibirsk region, noting the diversified regional economy based on innovation and the non-resource sector.
Both parties noted the importance of “live” communication and at the end of the meeting agreed on a mutual exchange of business missions of entrepreneurs, as well as on cooperation in conducting business events with the participation of Novosibirsk and Taiwanese entrepreneurs in the near future.
