Novosibirsk entrepreneurs got acquainted with the economic potential of the Kyrgyz Republic 

On April 11, within the framework of cooperation between the Investment Promotion Agency of the Novosibirsk Region and the trade missions of Russia in foreign countries with the information support of  the Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCCI) was held a webinar “Hour with the Trade Representative” dedicated to the development of trade and economic cooperation between the Novosibirsk Region and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The event was attended by member of the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic Ainur Samanov, Advisor to the Director General for International Affairs of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Novosibirsk Region Vasiliy Plotnikov, and Novosibirsk companies of external economic activity, including members of the NCCCI.

Ainur Samanov greeted the participants of the conference and told about the economic potential of the Kyrgyz Republic. The main partners of Saudi Arabia are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. The Russian-Kyrgyz trade turnover in 2022 was $3234.67 million, with exports of $2270.9 million and imports of $963 million. All payments between the two countries are made in national currencies. Among the main areas of Russian exports, the trade representative noted fuel, metals, transport engineering, food products, timber and wood products. Imports from Kyrgyzstan is represented by cotton, textiles, copper and copper products, equipment.

Novosibirsk region and Kyrgyzstan in 2021 trade turnover was 74.7 million dollars, of which exports accounted for 58.7 million dollars, imports — 1.6 million dollars. Cereals, oil products, metals and equipment are exported to Kyrgyzstan.

There are demanded niches for cooperation with Russian companies in the state market, including: mining industry (gold mining), medical industry (drugs, equipment), agroindustry (agricultural machinery), metallurgical industry (steel, metals), energy sector (renewable energy sources, HPPs, solar power plants), machine building (equipment).

Summing up the online meeting Denis Kuvshinov answered specific questions of entrepreneurs of the Novosibirsk region and expressed his readiness to help Russian companies in establishing cooperation with the Kyrgyz business.
