Novosibirsk entrepreneurs got acquainted with the economic potential of Turkmenistan

On  October 6, within the framework of cooperation between the Investment Promotion Agency of the Novosibirsk Region  and the trade missions of Russia in foreign countries with the support of  the Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCCI) was held a webinar “Hour with the Trade Representative” dedicated to the development of trade and economic cooperation between the Novosibirsk Region and Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by member of the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan Alexander Elizarov, General Director Deputy Vyacheslav Rodionov, Advisor to the Director General for International Affairs of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Novosibirsk Region Vasiliy Plotnikov, and Novosibirsk companies of external economic activity, including members of the NCCCI.

Vyacheslav Rodionov greeted the participants of the meet and noted the great interest of Novosibirsk entrepreneurs to Turkmenistan.

Alexander Elizarov told about the economic potential of Turkmenistan and demanded niches for cooperation with Russian companies. The main goods coming to the market of Turkmenistan are machinery and equipment, railway equipment, metal products, woodworking products, food products, chemical products for the needs of agriculture of the country (fertilizers, etc.). The volume of demand of the country is small; there are consumer products from Russia, Belarus, neighboring countries and China.

In order to find a partner in Turkmenistan, it is not enough to correspond and hold online meetings, it is important to be personally present and study the market. Participation in exhibitions is the most effective way. At the same time, regularity of participation in the events and the presence of the company’s top officials are important.

Summing up the online meeting Alexander Elizarov answered specific questions of entrepreneurs of the Novosibirsk region and expressed his readiness to help Russian companies in establishing cooperation with Turkmen business.
