Russian companies have got acquainted with the Navoi Free Economic Zone
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation held a videoconference with a presentation of the opportunities of the Navoi Free Economic Zone. It is located nearby Navoi in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meet was attended by the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Kurochkin, CEO Khabib Abdullaev, representatives of regional chambers of commerce and industry, chief specialist for foreign communications of the NCCCI Julia Naumkina.
Mr. Kurochkin noted the longterm cooperation Russia and Uzbekistan. Navoi Free Economic Zone is a prospective opportunity in industrial collaboration for Russian companies.
Mr. Abdullaev presented the economic potential of the free zone. It was established in 2008. 77 manufactories are located there and 29 are building. Mr. Abdullaev told about variations of collaborations for Russian companies: sale of goods and services in the Uzbek market, production of goods for re-export to Russia, production and sale of goods and services in the Uzbek market, production of goods for re-export to third countries with change of country of origin, export-import operations, transportation and logistics and industrial services.
The following sectors are in demand for cooperation: mining and processing, machine building, metalworking, construction materials, chemistry, electrical engineering.
Tax exemptions and preferences are provided for foreign companies.
At the end of the event the speakers expressed their hope for the development of Navoi Free Economic Zone and effective cooperation.
