Novosibirsk entrepreneurs discussed cooperation with the Republic of Indonesia

On March 30, within the framework of cooperation between the Investment Promotion Agency of the Novosibirsk Region  and the trade missions of Russia in foreign countries with the information support of  the Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held a webinar “Hour with the Trade Representative” dedicated to the development of trade and economic cooperation between the Novosibirsk Region and the Republic of Indonesia.

The event was attended by the Russian Trade Representative in the Republic of Indonesia Sergey Rossomakhov, the Deputy Minister for Economic Development of the Novosibirsk region Anna Pavlova, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Novosibirsk Region Stanislav Bolotov, General Director Counselor for international affairs Vasiliy Plotnikov, Vice-President of the Novosibirsk City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tatyana Bernadskaya, and more than 20 Novosibirsk companies.

Sergei Rossomakhov welcomed the participants of the webinar. He noted that Indonesia is a prospective market for Russian companies, because it is the largest economy in Southeast Asia, told the Novosibirsk entrepreneurs about the peculiarities of entering the Indonesian market, and stressed the main spheres of mutual trade. Mr. Rossomakhov believes that contacts in the energy sector, in the supply of food and agricultural goods, and in mechanical engineering can become promising areas for mutually beneficial cooperation. The parties also discussed possible variants of payments for export-import operations in the conditions of economic sanctions.

Anna Pavlova told that over the past 5 years the export of Novosibirsk goods to Indonesia has increased 10 times. She noted that the Novosibirsk region is located in the center of the Eurasian continent and is at the intersection of major air, rail and road routes, which connect the Asia-Pacific region with the countries of Europe. This location provides a unique opportunity to develop wholesale trade and build an optimal system of cargo delivery. Anna Pavlova emphasized that Novosibirsk is the largest scientific, innovative, educational and medical center of Russia.

During the online meeting, the Russian Trade Representative in Indonesia answered specific questions of entrepreneurs of the Novosibirsk region, and the parties exchanged useful links and contacts for further cooperation.
